n summer 2011, San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (RTA) expanded bus service to and from Los Osos and Morro Bay to San Luis Obispo. The combined route schedule, designed by create eNVY graphic design, contains a map with timed call outs and list of stops, easy for riders to understand. Schedules can be picked up at the Los Osos Chamber of Commerce, South Bay Community Center, Los Osos Library and Los Osos Community Services District. Riders can take the bus to work, school, shopping, dining or entertainment. The Route 13 bus goes into San Luis via Los Osos Valley Road, turns around behind Trader Joes and becomes Route 11 as it heads back to Los Osos and Morro Bay. The new route connects to Route 10 and San Luis Obispo Transit (the city bus) routes 2, 4 and 5.
Riders now have an alternative to driving that offsets the high price of gasoline. Various type of passes can be purchased at locations such as Cal Poly University, Cuesta Community College, RTA administrative office and Rabobank.
Next time you want to get around town, hop on the bus, plug in your music player, pull out your homework, relax with a book and let the driver take you to your destination. You can even take a beverage in a spill-proof mug. For only $20, purchase your mug at San Luis Obispo Regional Transit’s Administration office, get a free bus pass and refill. Riding the bus is convenient, saves you money and stress-free.
